The Power of Scale Modelling
Introduction
A simple introduction to scale modelling would start well by understanding the definition of what a scale model is and what this hobby is about. Without further ado, I will now be discussing the basics of scale modelling
Well... a scale model is a physical model of objects of all types which can range from vehicles, people, buildings and even fictional crafts. The "Scale" in scale modelling typically refers to the size of the model it is trying to recreate. It refers to the linear dimension of the scale model to the equivalent dimension on the full-sized subject, depicted usually as a ratio. For example, 1:6, 1:16 and 1:35 scale. This means that every one centimeter on the model, is represented as six units on the full-sized subject. Scale models are used in many fields as a tool in helping individuals representing ideas that are otherwise not easily conveyed via wording or description.
The two main methods of creating a model is by Kit Assembly and Scratch Building

Why Scale Modelling?
A lot of people wonder why individuals who choose to do this hobby are so passionate about it?
Well... I personally would say that scale modelling is a sort of art, where there is no limit to who can enjoy this hobby. People of all ages, cultures and ethnicity can enjoy this hobby as it is a great challenge for people to test their patience and willpower. The reason so many people enjoy this hobby is because it allows them to express their creativity and allow them to turn their ideas into a reality. For those who enjoys vehicles such as cars, planes, and tanks, there are kits out there that allow individuals to build it and display them in their homes. For some individuals who want to make the model in their own style, scale modelling allows the individual to modify their model to their specific needs, whether its hyper accuracy where every detail is same as on the full-sized object or they just want to change the colour scheme to a scheme of which they like, the possibilities are endless! How about for those who want to create a fictional object? Whether it be a space craft such as Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, or the USS Enterprise from Star Trek, individuals has all the freedom to make whatever they want to make as it is to scale.
What if the idea in my head doesn't have a scale?
This is where the freedom of scale modelling kicks in, you, yes YOU! Can make your own scale!!!
No matter what the subject is or if it even exists at all, you can create the model first and then set a desired scale to the model to your desire, there is truly no limitations to it. No one can prove you wrong either as it is your creation, you do what you want to do with it. Adding hyper realistic detail on to an alien spaceship such as control panels, no issue with that! As previously stated, the only limiting factor is your patience to finish the model and your imagination to create an idea for your model.
YOU determine what is cool for YOU!
The model is finished, what comes after?
So, you finally did it, you completed your first ever model, you did it in your own preferences and you really did enjoy the process, what's next?
To put it simply, it all depends on what the individual decides to do, they can purchase more kits to make and continue the hobby, or put the model they have made in a display area where they can view and enjoy their craft, enter in competitions where individuals compete and learn more techniques to improve while making their models or to use the model they have made and join table top games to play against other players.
Everyone is allowed to choose what they want to do with their models, scale modelling is not just a process, its an experience, you, the creator can do whatever you want after the model is completed, no one can tell you otherwise. So go share this hobby to your friends and family, continue this one of a kind hobby and let it be enjoyed by generations to come.
